Sign in and activate this Mac

An email address and a 6-digit code are all it takes. A new address creates your account. Then this Mac is activated on it.

Sign in with a code

  1. 1. Enter your email and click Continue with email.

  2. 2. Check your inbox for a 6-digit code. It expires in 10 minutes.

  3. 3. Type it in. The sixth digit signs you in; there's also Verify and sign in.

If the address is new, this creates your Termlux account. There's nothing else to fill in.

No email? Wait for Resend code (it unlocks after 30 seconds), check your spam folder, or choose Use a different email.

Sign in with a password

If you've set a password for your account, choose Sign in with a password on the first screen.

  • Forgot password? emails you a code, so you can sign in without it.
  • Email me a code instead switches back to the code.

You can change it on the website, in your account.

Activate this Mac

Signing in registers this Mac with your account, so most of the time you go straight on. If that doesn't work, you see Activate this Mac: click it, or Try again after a problem.

Each activated Mac uses one of your account's device slots: two during the trial, three with Pro or Team. If all of them are in use, the app says All the devices on your plan are in use. Deactivate a Mac you no longer use, then try again.

Staying signed in

Termlux keeps your session in the macOS Keychain, not in the app's own files, and signs you in at launch.

  • Offline: if it can't reach Termlux's servers, it starts with your saved session and says You're signed in with your saved session. Sync resumes once you're back online.
  • How long: you stay signed in as long as you open Termlux at least once every 30 days. Resetting your password signs you out everywhere.
  • Session expired: when a session has ended, the sign-in screen says Your session expired — sign in again.

Sign out

Settings › Account › Sign out… signs you out of this Mac. It closes every terminal and agent in all your workspaces first, and asks before it does.
