Fix a problem
What a message means and what to do about it: signing in, Claude, the task board, servers, sync and updates.
Signing in

| That code is incorrect or expired. | Codes last 10 minutes. Ask for a new one with Resend code, and use the newest email. |
| Incorrect email or password. | Check both, or choose Email me a code instead. |
| This account signs in with Google, which the app doesn't support yet. | Choose Email me a code: it signs you in to the same account. |
| Can't reach Termlux — check your connection. | Check your internet connection. With a saved session, you can keep working offline. |
| Termlux is having trouble right now — try again in a moment. | It's on our side. Try again in a few minutes. |
| All the devices on your plan are in use. | Deactivate a Mac you don't use, then click Try again. |
| Your session expired — sign in again. | Sign in. Your workspaces are all still there. Sessions end after 30 days unused. |
No code arriving? Look in your spam folder, wait 30 seconds for Resend code, and check the address for typos.

Claude Code isn't installed (no claude on your PATH). | Install Claude Code, then try again. If it's installed somewhere unusual, make sure your shell's PATH includes it. |
| Log in to Claude to start | Each workspace has its own Claude login. Log in once for this workspace. |
| Claude wasn't started: this folder's Claude settings weren't trusted. | Choose Restart Claude in the chat's ··· menu, and Trust and start if you trust the project. |
| This chat's folder no longer exists | The folder was moved or deleted. Open a new chat where the project is now. |
| Not available in the chat: … | That claude option only works in the terminal. Run it as command claude …. |
Claude doesn't use the task board or your hosts: those tools exist only in Termlux's Claude chat, not in Claude Code started in a plain terminal. A workspace also needs a folder for its board.
The task board
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| No task board here | The workspace has no folder. Set one in Workspace settings › Agent & startup › Start folder. |
| Keep tasks for "workspace"? | Claude wants a board for a workspace without a folder. Use this folder gives it the folder the chat runs in. |
| A task file can't be read | Usually a merge conflict in a shared board. Fix the file in .termlux/tasks/; Termlux never overwrites a file it can't read. |
| Task sync needs a server update | Your account's server doesn't take task boards yet. Everything else syncs; Termlux tries again later. |
Servers
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Couldn't sign in | Check the user name and how the host signs in. For a key, check the server has its public key. |
| Connection refused / Host unreachable / Connection timed out | Check the address and port, that the server is up, and any VPN you need. Test connection checks again. |
| Host not found | The address doesn't resolve. Check for typos, or use the IP. |
| Host key changed | The server's identity changed. If you know why (it was reinstalled), trust the new key. If not, don't connect. |
| Key not on this Mac | The host came from another Mac. Copy the key here, or Pick a key. See SSH keys. |
| No workspace to host the session | Create a workspace first, then connect. |
Sync
- A workspace doesn't show on my other Mac: only workspaces you share sync. Turn on its Sync to my other Macs. Check both Macs are signed in to the same account.
- Not on this Mac: the workspace's folder isn't on this Mac. Choose where it is here, or remove it from this Mac.
- Hosts don't sync: check Settings › Account › Hosts sync to your other Macs on both Macs, and that the host isn't set to Only on this Mac.
Updates
Update check failed or Update failed usually means no connection, or a download that broke off. Try Settings › Updates › Check now again later. If it keeps failing, download Termlux again and replace the app in Applications; your workspaces and settings stay.
Something else
- The window shows an error: click Try again, or Reload.
- A terminal draws garbage: Redraw terminal in the block's menu, or Redraw terminals in .
- The workspace list couldn't be read: Termlux says so, and keeps the original file, as a backup or untouched where it is.
- Start a workspace fresh: delete it and make it again. Your project folder isn't touched.
