Updates and betas

Termlux keeps itself up to date and installs only updates signed by us. Turn on beta updates to get new things first.

How updates arrive

A few seconds after it opens, Termlux checks for a new version. When there is one, it tells you, Termlux 0.x is available, with Update…. Nothing happens until you say so:

  1. 1. Click Update…. You see what's new, and how many open sessions will close.

  2. 2. Click Update & relaunch. Termlux downloads the update, checks its signature, installs it and opens again.

Your terminals and Claude chats close during the update. Claude conversations can be continued afterwards.

Check now

Settings › Updates › Check for updates › Check now looks straight away. It says You're up to date when you are.

Beta updates

Each new version is a beta first, on the Termlux team's Macs; you get it as a stable release once it has proven itself. Settings › Updates › Beta updates is there only for Termlux team accounts.

If you were already on a beta, you stay on it until a newer stable release comes. Updates never go backwards.

What's new

The first time you open a new version, a short note says what changed. Settings › Updates shows the version you have, marked Beta on a beta.

Every stable release's notes, newest first, are on the What's new page.
